Introducing the 2017 Drum Major – Leslie Abreu

New London, CT – 7th Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps is proud to announce it’s 2017 Drum Major with the appointment of third year member Leslie Abreu.

Leslie got her start in the marching arts at New London High School in New London, Connecticut as a baritone player. Currently a senior, she has lead the band as their drum major for the past two years. Leslie has been a member of 7R Brass for the past two seasons as a member of the baritone line.

When asked img_20161217_230935about how 7th Regiment has impacted her, Leslie responded, “I have seen myself grow as a person and a musician over the past two years being a part of 7th Regiment. The unforgettable experiences that I have shared with amazingly talented people…this is what made me want to participate another year.”

Kevin Lowery, corps director, expressed his excitement over the decision. “Leslie truly embodies what we believe a corps member and student leader should be. She is a motivated young woman and possesses an infectious amount of energy. I am truly confident that Leslie will do great things with the 2017 corps!”

Leslie is “extremely excited to have the opportunity to experience 7th Regiment in a new and challenging way. I am most excited to learn about myself and others through this incredible position. I have a great feeling about this year. With all of the dedicated individuals that keep putting their heart and soul into the corps, we are bound to accomplish great things.”

7th Regiment, meanwhile, is still looking for members to fill out hornline and guard positions for the 2017 roster. Anyone interested should go to https://www.seventhregiment.org/join-2017/ for more information.
